Training Officer

Lt (N) Wilson McInnes, CD

Lt (N) McInnes started with the cadet Program in 1991 as a sea cadet with RCSCC Repulse in Sarnia. During his time in the Sea Cadets, SLt McInnes served as Chief Boatswain Mate, Field Gun crew commander.

After Completing aging out of Cadets and completing High School, SLt McInnes continued his pursuit of a nautical career when he attended Great Lakes International Marine Training Institute at Georgian College in Owen Sound, where he attained the all training to be a Chief Engineer on any Vessel. SLt McInnes earned a Diploma in Marine Engineer Technology. During his time at college, he was the Class Representative for his class and was awarded the Best Class Representative for those 3 years.

In 2002 SLt McInnes return to the cadet system and to RCSCC Repulse, SLt McInnes enrolled into the Cadet Instructor Cadre as an instructor for RCSCC Repulse he was commissioned as officer in the Canadian Armed Forces on 4th day of February 2004. From the day SLt McInnes started working with Repulse, he also simulatainiously worked with Sail Center #9 in Sarnia as Safety Boat operator.

In the summer of 2004, SLt McInnes Transferred to the Sail Center, volunterring with the corps. During his time with Sail Center SLt McInnes worked alongside the Navy League and Department of National Defense during the negotiations to secure the site for the Sail Center.

In 2005 he transferred back to RCSCC Repulse and served as the Training officer. During this time he was instrumental starting the formal use of the United States Sea Cadet Training Vessel Grey Fox. He was also the Coach of the Area WinningGyn Team.

In 2006 SLt McInnes Transferred to 44 Squadron where he was an instructor for 4 years, followed by a 2.5 year hiatus from the cadet system.

In 2013 went in strength with 102 1H RC(ARMY)CC Sarnia as the Stores and Supply officer. In 2014 SLt McInnes moved out of stores to be the Chief Instructor at the 102 Corps in Sarnia.

In 2015 he transferred to 2563 1st Hussars Petrolia where he served as an Instructor. He is now appointed to the Training Officer Position at 2563.
